Rupee rises 9 paise to 83.10 against US dollar in early trade

The rupee rose 9 paise to 83.10 against the US dollar in early trade on Friday amid a retreating dollar versus major rivals and positive cues from equity markets. Massive selling of equities by foreign investors and an upward trend in crude oil prices, however, capped the rise of domestic currency, forex dealers said. The Indian unit opened strong at 83.13 against the US dollar and touched the highest level of 83.09.

It later traded at 83.10 against the greenback, registering a gain of 9 paise from its previous close. On Thursday, the rupee settled 3 paise higher at 83.19. Analysts said higher interest rates and US bond yields are prompting foreign investors to stay in the selling mode in Indian capital markets, while the rupee witnessed some recovery due to a significant decline in India’s current account deficit (CAD).

The Last of Us Part 1 Has Several Innovative Accessibility Features

Like several other PlayStation 5 games, The Last of Us Part 1 will feature a number of accessibility options that include audio descriptions for cinematics, alternative controls, and much more.

One of the more interesting features uses the DualSense controller to enhance dialogue. The controller vibrates when a specific line is delivered, thus enabling a deaf player to feel the emphasis during these dialogue sequences and get a sense for how it is spoken. Another fascinating feature is geared toward blind and visually-impaired players, which Naughty Dog calls Enhanced Listen Mode. Using that suite of features, players can scan for enemies, cinematics have audio descriptions, and traversal audio clues help paint a picture of the world around Joel.

“To some extent the principles behind accessibility are good universal design principles,” game director Matthew Gallant said in a video that highlighted some of the new accessibility options. “Thankfully we’re able to think abo…

Casinos Are More Susceptible to Threats Than Thought, Spy Says

Wargo talked to Shawnee Delaney, the current chief executive of Vaillance Group, and a former Defense Intelligence Agency officer. Delaney was keen to explain how her previous experience in intelligence services was more relevant to the casino sector than anyone outside the industry could suspect.

Casinos Continue to Be Target for Bad Actors and Hackers

She put a stop to the speculation by explaining that malicious actors – whether they are spies or social engineers – use the same technique to infiltrate systems and networks, accessing all sorts of information. Delaney said that casinos are particularly vulnerable in their relationships with third parties.

This, she argued, allows hackers to penetrate third-party systems and from there on – the casinos themselves. It’…
